2014 Spring Dog Wash

Let’s face it – dogs love spring. With spring comes long sunny afternoon walks, fresh grass, interesting smells and, of course, GIANT PUDDLES OF MUD. Thankfully, ACTSS came to the rescue!

On Saturday, May 3, hundreds of pet parents from around Alberta came out to support our annual Spring Charity Dog Wash and have some good clean fun. With 11 participating groomers spread out across Edmonton, Beaumont, Leduc, Stony Plain, Red Deer and Calgary, this year’s dog wash was a huge success.

Pet owners dropped their dogs off at participating groomers for some much needed cleaning and pampering. Many lucky dogs were treated with some complimentary doggy gift bags provided by Bone & Biscuit (Spruce Grove/Stony Plain) and Petland (Edmonton).
Meanwhile, owners enjoyed the
opportunity to chat with volunteers and other pet parents while they waited, learning more about veterinary cancer treatments over a slice of custom cake prepared by Cheryl’s Creations. Pups emerged from their day at the doggy spa fresh, clean and ready to take more mud puddles by storm!

All proceeds from the Annual Spring Charity Dog Wash help Alberta families cover the costs of veterinary cancer treatments. The grand total of funds raised through this event was just over $6,500!

Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and groomers involved in our dog wash weekend. Events like this and our upcoming Halloween Extravaganza have helped raise enough money to assist over 320 Alberta families since 2000.
We couldn’t do it without you and your dirty dogs!
